How can I touch up the frame?
The exact paint color and method to use for small scratches or normal wear on your Ekodome frame.
All Ekodome frames are powder-coated in RAL 7016 Anthracite Gray, matte finish. This is an architectural-grade coating applied at the factory. If you ever need to touch up a small scratch or surface mark, you can use this same color code to achieve the closest possible match.
What paint should I use?
Use a DTM (Direct-to-Metal) paint in RAL 7016, matte.
DTM is the best choice because:
• it adheres directly to metal without primer
• it’s designed for aluminum and steel
• it’s available in spray or bottle/brush formats
• it provides extra corrosion resistance
How to apply touch-up paint
1. Clean the area
Wipe off dust, dirt, or debris with a mild cleaner. Let it dry completely.
2. Test the color
Apply a small amount in a hidden spot to make sure the shade and sheen match closely.
3. Apply in thin layers
Spray or brush lightly, following the paint instructions. Thin coats blend better with the surrounding powder coat.
4. Don’t overdo it
Our original finish is a factory-applied powder coat. Touch-ups may look slightly different in texture, which is normal. Keep the repair small and precise.
5. Let it dry fully
Allow the paint to cure before touching or exposing the area to moisture.
Final Tips
- Touch-ups are meant for small marks only, not for repainting the entire frame.
- Always choose matte finish, since gloss or satin will not match the original coating.
- Store any leftover paint for future use if your dome is in an active environment.
