How do I clean my dome?

Cleaning and maintenance

Regularly cleaning the exterior of your dome is highly recommended to prevent the accumulation of dirt and debris, which can shorten the lifespan of our sealing elements. Not only does regular cleaning help maintain the aesthetics of your dome, but it also ensures optimal functionality and longevity.

To effectively clean the surface and powder-coated aluminum framework, a solution of soapy water is highly effective. The mild detergent in the soapy water helps break down dirt and grime without causing any damage to the dome's materials. It is important to avoid using solvent-based chemical cleaners or abrasive materials as they can cause discoloration or scratches on the dome's surface.

In most cases, simply using hose water is sufficient for routine cleaning. The gentle pressure from the hose can help remove loose dirt and debris, leaving your dome looking clean and fresh. However, for more stubborn dirt or stains, powerwashing the panels can be an effective method. Powerwashing uses high-pressure water jets to dislodge and remove stubborn dirt, making it easier to clean the dome's exterior.

When powerwashing the panels, it is crucial to use appropriate pressure and technique to prevent any damage to the dome. Start from the top and work your way down, ensuring that the water jet is not too close to the surface to avoid causing any dents or other forms of damage. It is also important to avoid aiming the water jet directly at the sealing elements to prevent any potential damage.

By regularly cleaning your dome's exterior, you can effectively maintain the cleanliness and longevity of your dome. This not only enhances its visual appeal but also ensures that the sealing elements are protected, allowing your dome to withstand the test of time.
