How does the production queue work once I place an order?
A clear overview of how your order moves through our manufacturing schedule
Every Ekodome is made to order, and your dome enters our production queue the moment we receive your payment. This system keeps manufacturing fair, organized, and predictable, especially during busy seasons.
Here’s how the production queue works, step-by-step.
1. Your Order Is Locked Into the Queue
Once your payment is received, your dome is assigned a production slot based on:
• the date your order was confirmed
• your dome model and panel type
• any customizations you selected
• the current load of the factory line
We do not skip the queue or reshuffle orders unless a project has a verified emergency or contractual timeline.
2. Engineering & Technical Prep
Before manufacturing begins, your order goes through internal review:
• model configuration is verified
• door and window placement is checked
• panel type and color are confirmed
• any custom elements are approved
If something needs clarification, our team will reach out right away so there are no delays later.
3. Material Procurement Begins
For HPL panels and insulated SIP panels (used in Hard-Shell Domes and PRO Domes), the raw material is ordered in large sheets from our certified vendor based on your color choice.
• sheet production takes the longest time
• we initiate this step as soon as your order is confirmed
4. Panel Production
Once materials arrive:
• SIP panels are laminated, cured, and stabilized before cutting
• HPL, SIP, and polycarbonate panels are precisely cut into individual triangles
• each piece goes through dimensional and quality inspection
This stage is detailed and labor-intensive because every triangle is individually produced.
5. Frame System Production Runs in Parallel
While panels are being fabricated:
• aluminum struts are cut, formed, and powder-coated
• hubs and hardware are prepared
• the frame is packaged into wooden crates
All parts undergo visual and dimensional checks before packing.
6. Final Assembly Check & Packing
Before shipment, we verify:
• full panel count
• all vents, windows, doors, and add-ons
• color selections
• compatibility of frame and panels
Panels are packed in reinforced cage pallets and wrapped in protective black film.
Crates and pallets are labeled clearly (HPL, SIP, Poly, Glass, Frame).
6. Ready for Shipment
Once your dome is complete, we notify you and:
• confirm the shipping address
• confirm readiness to receive delivery
• provide freight cost if not already finalized
• schedule the shipment based on carrier availability
If you’re not ready to receive the shipment, we can delay loading. After the dome leaves our facility, storage fees may apply on the carrier side if you’re unable to receive it on arrival.
7. Lead Time Expectations
The typical production time for most Ekodomes is 18–20 weeks, depending on:
• factory workload
• complexity of your build
• seasonality (fall–winter are peak months)
• number of domes in your order
Large developments or custom projects may take longer.
8. Your Position in the Queue Remains Fixed
Once you're in the queue, your position is locked. Adding panels or accessories doesn’t push you back. Changing your dome model may.
We always aim to keep production on schedule, and we communicate proactively if anything requires attention.
